CADDRA (Canadian ADHD Resource Alliance) Website
CADDRA is an excellent resource, particularly if you are looking for information about different types of medications. There is a great chart (CADDRA Medication Chart 2016) that shows the difference between the stimulant and non-stimulant medications, characteristics of the medications and the typical doses.
There is a plethora of information under the Public Info section (Public Information Parents) This section is organized based on the user, such as Educator, Parent, Children, Adolescent or Adult. Each section has a suggested reading list, resources and links, videos and other information based on the group. This is an excellent place to get information as a parent about what ADHD is, the history of ADHD, strategies for helping with behaviour, diagnosis process etc. or as an educator to better understand the needs of your students and recommended readings to better understand ADHD and the behavioural strategies that might work with students.
The forms section (Assessment Forms/Checklists) includes all of the typical forms a Pediatrician or Psychiatrist might provide the parent or educators to complete during the diagnosis phase. This is also helpful to look at because it breaks down the assessment characteristics and might give you can idea of what to look for when deciding whether to pursue a diagnosis for your child.
This is a just a few links to areas I found particularly helpful on this website. I hope you find this a useful resource as well!
