About Me

I am a Principal of an inner city school in a large district in British Columbia Canada. I am also a mom to two children, one boy, JP, who is currently 5 years old and was recently diagnosed with ADHD and a girl, El, age 7, who struggles with some anxiety issues.

I have spent many years in Education working with students with various challenges and gifts. One thing I learned is all children are different, even if they have the same 'label'. As a parent I feel like I am learning many of these lessons all over again, through a different lens. I decided to start this blog to help myself and others makes some sense of this complexities within each child, the funny side, if we can stop to laugh about it, and the educational side, in an ever growing and changing field.
